I'm glad that's settled.
Andrea Mitchell, the NBC reporter and wife of Alan Greenspan, who once gushed in a report: "a recent Gallup Poll shows Mrs. Clinton is the most popular woman in America. Even more popular than Oprah!" appeared on Bill O'Reilly last night. She seemed stunned, frozen the the headlights, when Bill Orally asked her about the existence of liberal bias at NBC. It was as if Bill was claiming the Sun revolved around the Earth. I see no bias whatsoever, she said. Not even Chris Matthews, he asked? No, he's a news analyst, I don't see any bias, she responded.
OK, so the
Neo-Copperhead, Chris Matthews who slobbered all over James Webb this week as Webb bashed the President on Iraq. Who queried of Webb, "what do you make of the President asking about your son? (Apparently, small talk, genuine compassion, or a tidbit of intelligence from the field are not nearly possibilities.) The same Chris Matthews who hammered George Bush, daily, on any show that would have him, throughout all of 2003, 2004 and 2005 for his justification for war. Chris Matthews, who continued to make the case that there were no weapons of mass destruction and who
wrongly argued that WMD was the
only casus belli for invading Iraq. (Not the violations of the 1991 Gulf War armistice, the cat and mouse games Saddam played with the Keystone Cop-like UN Weapons Inspectors, etc., etc. The same Chris Matthews (former employee of the famously partisan Speaker, Tip O'Neill) who worked daily on his every television appearance to weaken America's resolve to fight the war, then asked innocently in late 2005: "where has the support for the Iraq war gone?"
Andrea Mitchell is either an idiot, not likely, insane, probably not, on mind altering medication, possibly or wants to maintain cocktail party cred: bingo. I don't think I'll buy her book, whatever the title is.
